What if you missed a deadline?
If the regular date has passed but the late date has not, check My SAT® for late registration and available centers. Budget for the additional fee and confirm the selected test date before paying.
If both dates have passed, look at the next administration in the test calendar. The nearest test day may already be closed to new registration, so use the next open deadline rather than assuming the next countdown is an available booking.
A published deadline does not reserve a place. Confirm your registration, test center, and device arrangements in your account.
Borrowing a device requires more notice
College Board requires students who need a loaned device to register and request one at least 30 days before test day. That is a separate requirement from ordinary registration. Check it before using a late-registration date as your planning deadline.
If you are using your own device, follow College Board's Bluebook preparation and exam-setup instructions before test day. Registration alone is not the complete preparation checklist.
Check the score date before choosing a retake
A result can arrive close to another test's registration deadline. November 7, 2026 scores are scheduled for November 20, which is also the regular-registration deadline for December 5. Decide ahead of time whether you need the later test and how you will handle that short decision window.

SAT® registration questions
What time do SAT® registration deadlines close?
College Board lists 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time for its weekend SAT® deadlines. Convert that cutoff to your own time zone; it is not midnight everywhere.
Can international students register late for the SAT®?
Yes. College Board says late registration is available worldwide, with an additional fee. Check the registration system for available seats.
Is the College Board device request deadline different?
Yes. Students borrowing a College Board device must register and request it at least 30 days before test day. The regular or late registration deadline may be too late for that request.
Can I register after the late deadline?
The published calendar does not provide another ordinary registration deadline after the late cutoff. Check a later test date and confirm options directly with College Board.
