How to choose between dates
Start with the score deadline you need to meet, then work backward. A test date before an application deadline is not enough if its score release comes afterward. Check the college's last accepted testing date and its score-report requirements before choosing.
Next, compare your preparation time with the regular-registration deadline. Waiting for a deadline can mean fewer available centers. The deadline guide explains when regular registration ends, when late registration is possible, and why device requests need more notice.
For a possible retake, check both rows together. For example, the November 7, 2026 score release and the December 5 regular-registration deadline both fall on November 20. Waiting for that score leaves little time to make a decision before the regular deadline.
Use the SAT® study plan to organize practice around the weeks you actually have, rather than choosing a test solely because it is the nearest one.
Weekend testing and school testing use different calendars
The table is for students registering for weekend testing. College Board lists an October 1-30, 2026 fall in-school window and a March 1-April 30, 2027 spring in-school window. Your school determines which day you test and handles registration for those administrations.
Students who cannot test on Saturday for religious reasons should follow College Board's Sunday-testing process. Confirm your assigned date and arrival information in your own registration; do not move a Saturday date on your calendar without that confirmation.

Are SAT® dates the same for U.S. and international students?
Yes. College Board states that these weekend dates and registration deadlines apply to U.S. and international students. Test-center availability still depends on the location you select.
